Lead Oracle Data Engineer

Overview

In this Lead Data Engineer role, you will design, build and optimize Oracle-based data platforms within a secure, high-stakes environment. You’ll work closely with architects, developers and stakeholders to deliver scalable data solutions that ensure data availability, integrity and governance. The position focuses on enterprise data pipelines, data warehousing and performance tuning for mission-critical analytics. This role offers impact through shaping secure data capabilities on a high-profile programme.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain Oracle-based data solutions and data pipelines.
• Build and optimize ETL/ELT processes to support BI and analytics.
• Develop and maintain Oracle databases, schemas, stored procedures, functions and packages.
• Ensure data quality, governance, security and compliance across data assets.
• Troubleshoot performance issues and implement tuning and optimization strategies.
• Collaborate with architects, developers and business stakeholders to deliver data-driven solutions.
• Support cloud and hybrid data platforms where required.
• Produce technical documentation and contribute to best practice standards.

Key requirements

• Strong experience with Oracle Database technologies.
• Proven ETL development, data integration and data migration experience.
• Strong SQL and PL/SQL development skills.
• Experience designing and maintaining large-scale data warehouses and data pipelines.
• Knowledge of data modeling, performance tuning and optimization.
• Experience with Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), Oracle GoldenGate or similar data integration tools.
• Understanding of data governance, security and compliance requirements.
