Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a small tech team, including 1-2-1s and performance reviews
• Drive architecture, design, and implementation work with a hands-on approach
• Refactor and improve the existing codebase while delivering new features
• Build and evolve APIs, preferably with FastAPI, for core banking platform
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to align on technical direction
• Ensure software quality through CI/CD, testing, and adherence to SDLC best practices
• Contribute to setting engineering standards and fostering continuous improvement

Key requirements

• Strong Python backend development experience
• Leadership experience with mentoring and people management
• Experience building APIs (preferably FastAPI)
• Knowledge of cloud services (GCP, and AWS/Azure as acceptable alternatives)
• Solid understanding of CI/CD, testing, and deployment processes
• Strong CS fundamentals (OOP, data structures, design patterns, algorithms)
• Excellent communication and collaborative skills
• STEM degree with 2.1 or above
