Learning Support Assistant – SEND School Basingstoke, Hampshire We're looking for a Learning Support Assistant / SEND Teaching Assistant to join a fantastic specialist school in Basingstoke , supporting young people aged 11–19 with a range of additional needs .

This is a really varied SEND environment. Pupils may have moderate or severe learning difficulties, autism, communication needs, social and emotional needs or other additional learning needs , so no two days are exactly the same.

The school has a strong focus on helping every young person become as confident, independent and prepared for adult life as possible. Learning is highly personalised, practical and adapted around the individual rather than expecting every pupil to learn in exactly the same way.

Who are we looking for? Experience in a specialist school would be brilliant, but it isn't essential. We'd be interested in hearing from people with backgrounds such as: Learning Support Assistant Teaching Assistant SEN Teaching Assistant SEND Teaching Assistant Autism Support Worker Support Worker Residential Support Worker Youth Worker Care Worker Behaviour Support Assistant Experience supporting people with autism, learning disabilities, complex needs, SEMH, communication difficulties or additional needs would be particularly relevant.

More than anything, we're looking for someone who is kind, reliable, patient and genuinely interested in working with young people with SEND . A school where SEND support really is individual One of the things that makes this setting particularly interesting is the range of learning approaches used across the school.

Different pupils follow different pathways depending on their needs, with some learning focused heavily on emotional regulation and communication , others on practical and sensory learning , and others following a more tradi
