Job Description Junior Solicitor / NQ Solicitor / CILEX Lawyer Location: East Sussex Job Type: Full-Time, Office-Based - 37.5 hours per week (with some flex to c35 hours) Annual Salary: 45k per annum Join my clients `specialist Property Disputes Team as a Junior Solicitor, Newly Qualified Solicitor, or CILEX Lawyer focusing on Landlord & Tenant Litigation.

the role

Manage fee-earning work under appropriate supervision, progressing cases through to conclusion with increasing autonomy. Handle a variety of landlord and tenant litigation matters, including possession proceedings, defended disputes, and complex cases.

Draft legal documents, applications, pleadings, and correspondence, ensuring compliance with court directions, orders, and deadlines. Liaise effectively with clients, defendants, solicitors, courts, and managing agents, providing regular updates and maintaining high standards of client service.

Issue possession claims via the Possession Claims Online system and prepare related legal documents such as notices seeking possession and instructions for advocates and counsel. Maintain accurate case management records and support the wider team with additional litigation-related tasks. Required Skills &

Qualifications

Qualified Solicitor (NQ or Junior level) or CILEX qualification with litigation practice rights. A good understanding of landlord and tenant law (training can be provided for candidates without direct L&T experience). Knowledge of Civil Procedure Rules and litigation processes.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities. Proficient IT and case management skills. The confidence to communicate professionally with clients and third parties.

The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines. A proactive, adaptable, and team-oriented approach. A commitment to professionalism, confidentiality, and client care.
