The RoleThe LV Switch Panel Wireman will be responsible for the mechanical and electrical assembly, wiring and testing of low-voltage distribution boards and MCCB panel boards. The role is central to ensuring products are completed accurately, safely and to the required technical standards.
Build and test distribution boards and MCCB panels in line with technical drawings, specifications and BS EN 61439 requirementsRead and interpret electrical CAD drawings, wiring diagrams and layout informationCheck component quantities and quality before starting each buildAssemble wiring loom kits using a range of cable crimp hand toolsCarry out electrical testing, including continuity, insulation resistance and functional checksIdentify and rectify wiring or assembly faults through effective fault-findingMaintain accurate manufacturing records, including test certification, diagrams, drawings and production sheetsWork safely and support compliance with health and safety requirementsWork independently with limited supervision while collaborating with colleagues and other departmentsAbout YouPrevious strong experience in a low-voltage panel building environmentGood understanding of electrical systems, components and panel constructionStrong attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality workAbility to read and work from technical electrical drawings and wiring diagramsExperience using hand tools, power tools and electrical test equipmentKnowledge of electrical regulations, including 18th EditionPerks & IncentivesWorkshop-based role with a stable full-time schedule, occasional site work, and the opportunity to develop further within a specialist manufacturing environment.
