MEP Project Director (Aviation) Location: Heathrow (Airside) Salary: £110,000 + Package Project Value: £30million + Contract: PermanentThe OpportunityI'm currently working with a leading main contractor delivering a major infrastructure upgrade within a live airport environment.
They are looking to appoint an MEP Project Director to take ownership of a high-value, technically complex project at one of the UK's busiest airports. This is a rare opportunity to lead a flagship scheme within a mission-critical, highly regulated environment, where precision, safety, and coordination are paramount.

The Role - MEP Project DirectorAs MEP Project Director, you will take full ownership of the successful delivery of the MEP package, leading the project from design through to handover. Key responsibilities include:Providing overall leadership across all MEP delivery activitiesManaging the full project lifecycle from pre-construction through to commissioning and completionCoordinating works within a live airport environment, ensuring minimal disruption to operationsLeading multidisciplinary teams across mechanical, electrical, public health, and life safety systemsDriving programme delivery, cost control, and quality standardsOverseeing NEC4 contract administration, change control, and risk mitigationManaging key stakeholder relationships across client teams, operational staff, and contractorsDriving project controls, including programme management using tools such as Primavera P6What We're Looking ForThe ideal candidate will bring:Extensive experience delivering MEP projects within complex, live environments (aviation highly desirable)Proven track record leading high-value projects (£15m+)Strong expertise in NEC contracts (NEC4 preferred)Deep understanding of CDM regulations, Building Safety requirements, and compliance standardsExperience managing HV/LV systems, fire and life safety systems, HVAC, and public health packagesExceptional leadership and stakeholder management capabilityStrong commercial acumen, including cost planning, procurement strategy, and value engineeringQualifications & ExperienceDegree-qualified in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent)Professional accreditation (e.G.
CEng, MCIBSE, MAPM) - desirableSMSTS certificationEligible for airside clearance/passTypically 10+ years' experience in M&E project delivery, with leadership at senior levelWhy Apply?
