M&E Quantity Surveyor

Overview

As an M&E Quantity Surveyor in London, you’ll drive the commercial performance of multiple projects for a leading contractor. You’ll work closely with project managers, manage variations and subcontract orders, and maintain healthy debtor days. The role blends client-facing responsibilities with strong cost control, subcontract administration, and internal cost rationalisation. This is a hands-on, self-motivated position with exposure to diverse PMs and London-based projects.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of project commercial performance in collaboration with the project manager
• Adapt to different Project Managers and project contexts
• Establish entitlement and substantiate and submit external variations
• Prepare subcontract orders and manage them to project requirements
• Minimise debtor days through effective collections and billing practices
• Prepare and submit internal contract reviews including cost rationalisation

Key requirements

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
• Substantial experience with Sub Contractors and/or client-facing with Main Contractors
• Ability to work on single or multiple projects with self-motivation
• Proven track record of commercial management and variation handling
