Job Description Maintenance EngineerSalary: £53,000 including shift allowance + excellent benefits4-on, 4-off Days & NightsMagor, South WalesAre you a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer looking for a role where you can develop your technical skills, take ownership of engineering improvements and build a long-term career with a global business?
If so we have an excellent opportunity to join the team at the highly automated distribution facility of world's largest FMCG companiesThe RoleYou'll join a team of experienced Maintenance Engineers working on a wide range of automated material-handling equipment, including: Automated cranesRoller and chain conveyorsLift tablesRotation tablesShuttle carsMotors and gearboxesSensors and control panelsThe role is approximately 75% planned preventative and 25% reactive maintenance , giving you the opportunity to work proactively while still getting involved in hands-on fault finding on a range of mechanical and electrical components across the siteWhat You'll Be DoingCarrying out planned preventative maintenance across highly automated equipmentResponding to reactive breakdowns and carrying out effective fault findingWorking across both electrical and mechanical systemsInspecting, cleaning and lubricating mechanical componentsDiagnosing faults involving motors, sensors, control panels and conveyorsWorking with chains, sprockets, bearings and gearboxesCarrying out basic PLC diagnostics and checking I/O on Siemens S7 systemsContributing to continuous improvement initiativesSupporting root cause analysis and helping to prevent repeat failuresWorking closely with operators to maintain equipment reliabilityWhat We're Looking ForWe're looking for someone who is confident working in an automated environment and enjoys getting hands-on with both electrical and mechanical equipment.
You'll ideally have
NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering or equivalentAt least 2 years' experience working in an automated environmentStrong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skillsAn understanding of PLCs, ideally Siemens S7A genuine passion for engineering and continuous improvementMost importantly, we're looking for someone who wants to belong, develop and make an impact within the team.
