Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias) Location: Commutable from Milton Keynes, Aylesbury, Luton, Leighton Buzzard, Dunstable, Buckingham, Hemel Hempstead, and Bedford Salary: OTE £53,800+ (including shift premium + over time basic £47,000) Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 3-shift system (8-hour shifts) No weekends - site closed over Christmas week The Role We are seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer with an Electrical Bias, who also has strong mechanical skills, to join a busy manufacturing environment.
You will be responsible for maintaining and improving both new and existing plant equipment, ensuring safe, efficient operation and minimal downtime across the site. Key Responsibilities
- Electrical maintenance, fault finding, repair, and overhaul of heavy process and plant machinery
- Electrical installation, modification, and commissioning of equipment
- Supporting mechanical strip-down, fitting, and installation tasks as required
- Working on control panels, motors, sensors, drives, and automation equipment
- Reading and interpreting electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and CAD drawings
- Electrical fault finding on production and process equipment (primary focus)
- Supporting the transition from a reactive breakdown environment to a planned preventative maintenance (PPM) structure Candidate Profile The successful candidate will:
- Be a multi-skilled engineer with strong electrical fault-finding ability and good mechanical understanding
- Have experience in heavy industry such as aggregates, mining, quarrying, manufacturing, recycling, or similar environments (other backgrounds considered)
- Be confident working in a fast-paced, breakdown-focused environment
- Have hands-on experience with electrical maintenance, installation, and fault diagnosis
- Be able to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings
- Mechanical fitting experience is advantageous Required Skills
