Maintenance Engineer - Nights

Overview

As Maintenance Engineer on Nights at Greencore Wisbech, you ensure high equipment reliability to support production. You perform fault finding, planned and preventive maintenance, and root-cause fixes while coordinating with operations to maximise uptime. You’ll follow safety standards and keep accurate records and documentation. Responsibilities

• Fault finding and diagnostic maintenance on plant and equipment
• Plan and execute preventive maintenance to maximise reliability
• Identify root causes and implement fixes for equipment issues
• Maintain clear communication with the operations team about engineering activities and schedules
• Respond to internal customer needs to maximise production uptime
• Comply with food safety standards and controls
• Record stock movements from Engineering stores for accuracy
• Complete documentation to keep audit readiness
• Identify improvement opportunities for health, safety and operational efficiency

Key requirements

• Engineering experience as a technician or engineer
• Completed accredited apprenticeship or Level 3 qualification or equivalent
• Ability to diagnose maintenance tasks
• Prioritise daily schedule and activities
• Know how to request engineering parts via stores/shift manager
• Escalate significant process changes to management
• Basic understanding of safety and compliance requirements
• Good communication with cross-functional teams
• Problem-solving and analytical mindset
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities
• Fault finding and diagnostic maintenance
