DescriptionTake responsibility for the performance, growth and direction of an established commercial insurance broking operation in Birmingham, with the backing of a wider insurance group and the freedom to make a genuine impact.

This Managing Director opportunity offers a salary of 100,000-120,000, discretionary bonus and a flexible approach to hybrid working. You'll be leading a business with a strong presence in Motor Fleet and Motor Trade insurance, alongside a broader commercial portfolio.

There is also a growing focus on S&A and international business, creating opportunities to develop new markets, strengthen client relationships and shape the next stage of growth. The opportunityThis is a senior leadership position combining commercial strategy, people management and responsibility for the overall performance of the operation.

Business leadership: Take ownership of the commercial performance, direction and development of an established insurance broking operation. Growth strategy: Identify opportunities to develop existing business, strengthen client relationships and generate sustainable new revenue.

Broad commercial portfolio: Oversee a business with particular strengths in Motor Fleet and Motor Trade, alongside wider commercial insurance risks. Developing markets: Support the continued expansion into S&A and international insurance opportunities.

People leadership: Lead and develop teams, building a culture of accountability, collaboration and strong client service. Commercial relationships: Work closely with senior clients, insurers and wider business stakeholders to strengthen the operation's market position.

Who would suit it? This opportunity would suit an established Managing Director, Regional Director or senior commercial insurance leader who wants greater responsibility for the direction and performance of a business. You'll ideally bring: Significant leadership experience within commercial insurance broking, with responsibility for business performance and growth.

A strong understanding of commercial insurance, ideally including exposure to Motor Fleet or Motor Trade risks. The ability to develop and execute commercial strategies that balance revenue growth, profitability and client retention.

Experience leading teams, developing managers and creating an accountable, high-performing culture. The credibility to build relationships with senior clients, insurers and stakeholders across a wider organisation. You'll need to be comfortable combining strategic leadership with a hands-on understanding of the commercial insurance market.

The packageBasic salary: 100,000-120,000, depending on experience. Bonus: Discretionary performance-related bonus. Location: Birmingham. Hybrid working: Typically three days per week in the office, with considerable flexibility depending on business requirements.
