Job Description Manual Miller & Tooling Repair TechnicianRotherhamHours: Monday to Friday, DaysSalary: £37,000The RoleWe are currently recruiting for an experienced Manual Miller & Tooling Repair Technician to join a well-established manufacturing business in South Yorkshire.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineering professional with toolroom experience to work within a busy and supportive environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, modifying, and preparing tooling and mould equipment to support production operations.
Key ResponsibilitiesOperate manual milling machinery, including XYZ millsInterpret and work from engineering and technical drawingsMeasure and inspect finished components to ensure they meet specificationRepair, modify, polish, and maintain mould and tooling equipmentIdentify and report defects or issues with tooling and equipmentLocate and manage tooling held within storage areasCarry out blasting and cleaning of mould equipmentAccurately follow work instructions and job card specificationsSupport production requirements through timely completion of tooling repairs and maintenanceUndertake additional duties appropriate to the role and skill levelAbout YouPrevious experience working within a toolroom environmentExperience operating manual milling machinesKnowledge of mould repair, bench fitting, or tooling maintenanceAbility to read and interpret engineering drawingsExperience using XYZ machinery (advantageous)Experience in gas welding, polishing, or additional machining processes would be beneficial but is not essentialStrong attention to detail and commitment to quality standardsToolroom apprenticeship or equivalent engineering qualification preferredHas a strong commitment to health and safetyIs self-motivated and able to work independentlyDemonstrates excellent problem-solving skills and initiativeWorks accurately with a high level of attention to detailCan effectively prioritise workloads and meet deadlinesHas a flexible and positive approach to workBuilds strong working relationships with colleagues across the businessThrives in a team environment while taking ownership of their responsibilitiesIs adaptable and open to change and continuous improvementMaintains a professional and customer-focused attitudeWhat's on Offer?
