Job Description Help Shape the UKs Energy FutureMarine Sub Agent Opportunity with the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), Supporting Sizewell CAs part of the CWA (Civil Works Alliance), you will support the building of Sizewell C.
Sizewell C will be a 3.2-gigawatt power station generating low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes and will play a key role in our energy future, supplying reliable, clean electricity for at least 60 years. This role will be within theMarine and Tunnels Section.
What will you do? The purpose of the role is to provide management, leadership and control of a multi-disciplinary team comprising Sub Agents, Section Engineers, Site Engineers & ForemenCoreEnsure a relentless focus on Zero HarmMotivate section team and manage performance; monitor the competency of team members and undertake training/ coaching as appropriate Health Safety & EnvironmentalSets targets and KPIs in line with Project / Business objectives and monitors performanceCarries out periodic Safety & Environment Tours as required by the Project H & S PlanAssists Lead in Incident Investigation and information gathering / review.
Appraises improvement options and actions / instigates as appropriateLeads periodic risk reviews and takes output forward to the Project Risk RegisterMonitors effectiveness of the H & S Management SystemKeeps up to date with changes in legislation and cascades information to the teamEngineering ControlEnsures that sufficient resources are allocated to the Works Section and that each has an appropriate level of abilityIdentifies and arranges training as requiredQualitySets targets and KPIs in line with Project objectives and monitors performanceEnsures site audits are undertaken and takes appropriate action on the findingsAppraises improvement options and leads / instigates actions as appropriateImplements systems and processes to manage the quality of the constructive worksInvolved in working groups focused on Improvement AreasOverall ownership of Handover Documentation for SectionProductivitySets targets and KPIs in line with key outputs and monitors performance, reporting Section ProgressCarry out constructive analysis of fully resourced programmeManages sub-contractor performance based on KPIsEnsures production of operational target programmes to reflect overall construction programmeChairs prescribed Short Interval Control section meetings to review performance on siteCommercialSets targets and KPIs in line with budget forecastAttends and provides reports for weekly project meetings and identifies improvement areas and allocates / implements appropriate actions to team membersInvolved in the procurement of subcontractors and advises on commercial aspects / preferred attendancesProduces the risk schedule for section, reviews and updatesPrepares a cost plan and manages cost valueWhat are we looking for?
EssentialAble to clearly communicate the requirements of a safe system of work to ensure that these are followed accurately. Suggests and implements improvements to systems and capable of stopping operations when necessary.
