Marketing Manager Oxfordshire | Predominantly home-based with flexible working (must be able to commute to Oxford as needed) | Permanent, full-time Salary: up to 55,000 DOEThe CompanyRobert Half is proud to be working exclusively with Rock Management Services (Rock MS), based in Kidlington, Oxfordshire, to recruit a Marketing Manager to lead their marketing function.
Rock MS provides outsourced business support to organisations, predominantly within the legal sector, covering marketing, HR, IT, finance, practice management and compliance, so clients can stay lean and focused on their core business.
Led by Managing Director Judy Matthews, Rock MS supports a portfolio of clients, most notably Reeds Solicitors, a top-tier UK law firm with 300 staff across 22 offices, and has also developed its own Case and Practice Management solution, Bedrock.
Rock MS's marketing services span website development, social media strategy, SEO, and legal directory submissions such as Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners, helping clients strengthen their online presence and convert enquiries into clients.
The RoleWe are looking for an ambitious, commercially minded Marketing Manager with strong technical knowledge of websites, SEO and digital marketing. This is a hands-on role for someone who can develop and execute marketing strategy while also understanding what happens under the bonnet of a website - comfortable working with developers, agencies and senior stakeholders, but equally happy in Google Search Console, GA4, CMS platforms and technical SEO audits.
It's a genuinely unique position: you'll lead marketing not just for Rock MS itself, but for a portfolio of its clients, predominantly within the legal sector, including Reeds Solicitors - wearing multiple hats across different brands, campaigns and priorities, which could suit someone with an agency background.
You'll lead a small team, including a Content Marketer and Social Media Assistant, and work closely with consultants across the portfolio. ResponsibilitiesOwn the development and delivery of digital marketing strategy for Rock MS, Bedrock, Reeds Solicitors and other clientsLead integrated marketing campaigns across digital and offline channels, managing budgets and demonstrating clear ROIIdentify opportunities to increase brand awareness, website traffic, leads and customer acquisitionOwn website content, structure, navigation and user journeys from a marketing and performance perspectiveOwn SEO strategy and execution across the portfolio, including on-page optimisation, technical SEO, keyword research and content strategyMonitor and report on SEO and digital performance using analytics tools, translating data into actionable recommendationsWork with developers on website improvements, using a working understanding of HTML, CSS and basic JavaScript to diagnose issuesManage CMS platforms such as WordPress or Shopify, and conduct regular technical SEO auditsOptimise page titles, meta descriptions, headings, internal linking and content structureManage and develop a small team, and work closely with consultants supporting the wider functionOversee email marketing campaigns, supplier relationships (PR, web design, PPC) and directory/award submissionsMaintain brand consistency across all marketing materials and client-facing output across multiple brandsAbout YouProven experience in a marketing manager or senior marketing executive role, ideally within professional services, legal or a B2B environmentOrganised and commercially focused, but also technically curious, analytical, proactive, hands-on and creativeStrong, hands-on SEO expertise, including technical SEO, on-page optimisation, keyword strategy and use of SEO tools, with a track record of improving organic performanceConfident working with data and digital analytics to measure and improve campaign and SEO performanceExperience managing multi-channel campaigns and email marketing via CRM or marketing automation toolsGood understanding of HTML and CSSExcellent project management skills, confident managing external suppliers and senior stakeholdersA degree in marketing, business or a related field, or CIM qualification, or equivalent demonstrable experienceDesirableExperience in legal sector marketing, including familiarity with Legal 500 or Chambers directory submissionsExperience mentoring or overseeing junior team membersKnowledge of paid media (PPC and paid social), and familiarity with design tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative SuiteIn summary: a commercially driven Marketing Manager who understands websites deeply, knows SEO inside out, and can turn digital activity into measurable growth.
