Mechanical Engineer
Location: One Knightsbridge Green, London
Salary: £44,000 - £45,000
Hours: Monday - Friday, 07:00-16:00 / 09:00-18:00 on a weekly rotating shift
Callout: 1 week in 3, with £100 weekly callout allowance
About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled and reliable Mechanical Engineer to join their site-based engineering team at a prestigious commercial building in Knightsbridge. The role will involve carrying out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance, ensuring all building services and equipment remain operational, safe and compliant.
This is a hands-on engineering position suited to an experienced Mechanical Engineer with a strong maintenance background and the ability to diagnose and resolve faults effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative and reactive mechanical maintenance across the site.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults and breakdowns in a timely manner.
- Maintain and service a range of building mechanical systems and equipment.
- Respond to reactive maintenance requests and minimise equipment downtime.
- Carry out inspections and routine checks to ensure plant and equipment remain safe and operational.
- Complete maintenance records, job sheets and relevant site documentation accurately.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with relevant health and safety procedures.
- Work closely with the wider engineering team, contractors and site management.
- Support the smooth day-to-day operation of the building's mechanical services.
- Participate in the site's callout rota, approximately 1 week in 3.
Qualifications / Experience
- Recognised Mechanical Engineering qualification or relevant engineering background.
- Previous experience working as a Mechanical Engineer within a commercial building services environment.
- Strong experience in planned and reactive mechanical maintenance.
- Good fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a wider engineering team.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety and safe working practices.
- Experience working within a high-end commercial or landmark building environment would be advantageous.
