Job Description Mechanical Estimator Contract: Full time - Permanent Reports to: Estimating Manager Location: Office based;Central London with the opportunity for 1-2 days working from home when up to speed. Hours: 9am 5pm, with 1- hour unpaid lunch Salary: £75,000£80,000 per annum (dependent on experience) AboutThe Company Our client delivers mechanical and electrical building services for trusted clients across healthcare, education and heritage.
Theyve built a reputation for high-quality delivery in complex environmentsbacked by a supportive, people-first culture. The role Join their estimating team as a Mechanical Estimator and take ownership of end-to-end pricinghelping them win and deliver standout projects.
Youll work closely with PMs and engineers, with real scope to influence how they estimate and improve bid quality. What youll be doing Review drawings/specs and confirm scope, constraints and risks Complete mechanical take-offs (HVAC, pipework, plumbing, BSW) Build clear, accurate cost plans (labour, plant, materials, prelims, subbies) Run supplier/subcontract enquiries and assess returns Prepare tender submissions (assumptions, clarifications, exclusions) Support value engineering and continuous improvement of rates/benchmarks What were looking for Experience estimating mechanical building services packages Strong knowledge of HVAC, pipework and plumbing (fire protection a plus) Confident interpreting drawings, specs and scope Commercially aware, accurate and detail-focused Organisedable to juggle multiple tenders and deadlines Good communicator with a collaborative approach Comfortable with MS Office (estimating software experience helpful)

certification (e.g., CPE) and/or experience pricing healthcare, education or heritage projects.
