Job Description Mechanical FitterLocation: Stanford-le-Hope, EssexSalary: £44,000Shift: Monday - Friday DaysJob RoleWe are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Fitter to join a well-established and growing manufacturing business based in Stanford-le-Hope.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Mechanical Fitter looking to join a stable company offering a Monday to Friday days-based role, excellent training opportunities, and long-term career progression. The Mechanical Fitter will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance across a range of production and site equipment.
You will work closely with the engineering team to ensure machinery reliability, minimise downtime, and support continuous improvement projects across the site. Sector: ManufacturingNon-Negotiable Requirements for the Mechanical FitterRecognised mechanical engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, Apprenticeship or equivalent)Previous experience working as a Mechanical Fitter, Maintenance Fitter or Mechanical Maintenance EngineerStrong fault-finding and mechanical maintenance skillsExperience working within an industrial, manufacturing, production or processing environmentAbility to work independently and as part of a teamRequirements for the Mechanical FitterCarry out planned preventative maintenance activitiesRespond to mechanical breakdowns and equipment failuresDiagnose and repair faults on conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, motors and associated equipmentAssist with machinery installations and continuous improvement projectsEnsure all maintenance activities are completed safely and in line with company proceduresMaintain accurate maintenance records and documentationDesirable Requirements for the Mechanical FitterWelding or fabrication experienceExperience using CMMS systemsKnowledge of hydraulics and pneumaticsExperience within a heavy industrial or automated manufacturing environmentMulti-skilled maintenance experienceBenefitsMonday - Friday days roleCompetitive salary of £44,000Overtime opportunitiesPension schemeTraining and development opportunitiesStable and growing businessExcellent working environmentIf you are interested in this opportunity and feel you have the required skills, please apply now.
