Job Title: Mechanical Maintenance Engineer Location: Dual Site – North Shields & South Shields Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 Contract: Permanent, Full-time Are you a hands-on Mechanical Maintenance Engineer looking for a role where no two days are the same?

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business for a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to support the reliability, performance and continuous improvement of equipment across two production sites.

The Role As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting maintenance activities across sites in North Shields and South Shields. This is a varied position where the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer will travel between both locations, carrying out a mix of preventative planned maintenance and reactive breakdown support to keep operations running efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out reactive maintenance and fault finding to minimise downtime. Complete planned preventative maintenance activities across both sites. Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical equipment faults. Support continuous improvement and equipment reliability initiatives.

Ensure all maintenance work is completed safely and in line with company standards. Travel between the North Shields and South Shields sites as required. What we are looking for: Previous experience as a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer.

Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills. Mechanical maintenance experience. Ability to work independently and manage priorities across multiple sites. Full UK driving licence. We're committed to promoting inclusive opportunities.
