Job Description Mechanical Maintenance TechnicianLocation: Trafford Park, M17 Hours: 42 hours per week (average) Shift Pattern: 4 on, 4 off 06:00 to 18:00Salary£18.80 £22.26 per hour , depending on experience, plus a 15% shift allowance .About the RoleWe are looking to recruit 1 Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our maintenance team at our Trafford Park (M17) site.
This is a full-time, permanent position offering competitive pay, a generous shift allowance, and the opportunity to work within a professional and supportive maintenance team. Key ResponsibilitiesCarry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on mechanical plant and machinery.
Diagnose and repair mechanical faults to minimise production downtime. Install, service, and maintain a range of mechanical equipment and production machinery. Conduct inspections and identify potential maintenance issues before they become failures.
Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company procedures and health and safety regulations. Complete maintenance documentation accurately and report any issues promptly. Work closely with production and engineering colleagues to maintain efficient operations.
RequirementsPrevious experience in a mechanical maintenance role within an industrial or manufacturing environment. Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills. Experience maintaining pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, bearings, motors, and other mechanical equipment is advantageous.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good understanding of health and safety practices. A recognised mechanical engineering qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent) is desirable.
