Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Overview In this role you ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime in a fast-paced FMCG production environment. You will work within the engineering function to maintain machinery, diagnose faults, and support safe, efficient operations.

You'll lead planned and reactive maintenance, drive root-cause analysis, and contribute to continuous improvement. This is an hands-on, team-focused position that offers development in a manufacturing setting with clear impact on performance and quality.

Pay / Benefits company pension scheme enhanced annual leave life insurance employee assistance programme Westfield Healthcare scheme home/car insurance discounts Responsibilities Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across production machinery and equipment Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and respond to breakdowns to minimise downtime Investigate recurring faults and implement long-term solutions Support machine changeovers, equipment set-ups and CIP activities Collaborate with Production, Quality and Engineering teams to maintain performance and service levels Maintain maintenance records, breakdown reports and PPM schedules Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to improve reliability, efficiency and performance Provide knowledge sharing, training and effective shift handovers Ensure compliance with health and safety, quality, environmental and food safety standards Key requirements Level 3 qualification or above in Engineering or a recognised trade discipline Proven experience maintaining manufacturing machinery, ideally within FMCG Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills Experience performing both planned and reactive maintenance Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation Experience using computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS) Strong problem-solving, communication and teamwork skills Flexibility to work a rotational shift pattern including days, nights and weekends with overtime as needed problem-solving communication teamwork electrical fault-finding mechanical fault-finding planned and reactive maintenance
