Multi Trade Operative

Fraser Edwards is working with a leading social housing contractor to recruit an experienced Multi Trade Operative for a 6 month contract role covering Yeovil, Taunton, Bridgwater and Exeter. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled, customer-focused tradesperson with experience in property maintenance and social housing.

You will be responsible for carrying out a variety of repairs, maintenance and refurbishment works, ensuring properties are safe, well-maintained and completed to a high standard. The ideal candidate will be confident working independently, delivering quality workmanship and providing excellent customer service when liaising with residents, clients and colleagues.

The Role – Key Responsibilities Carpentry: Hanging doors, fitting skirting boards and architraves, and carrying out general carpentry repairs. Plumbing: Replacing taps, basins and toilets, identifying and locating leaks, diagnosing plumbing faults, and completing minor plumbing repairs.

Kitchen and Bathroom Refurbishments: Carrying out a range of refurbishment, repair and improvement works. Tiling Repairs: Completing minor tiling repairs in kitchens and bathrooms. Patch Plastering: Undertaking minor plastering repairs to achieve a smooth, professional finish.

Snagging Works: Identifying and rectifying defects to ensure all work meets the required quality standards. PDA Usage: Accurately recording jobs, repairs and completed works using a PDA. Customer Liaison: Communicating professionally with residents, clients and colleagues to deliver a reliable, customer-focused service.

Candidate Requirements Full UK Driving Licence: Essential, as a company van will be provided for travelling between properties and sites. Relevant Trade Qualification: Desirable, although practical skills and hands-on experience are highly valued.
