Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer

• £50,000 per annum

Talent Guardian is recruiting an experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer on behalf of a growing food manufacturing business establishing a modern production facility.

This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive, hands-on engineer to support the reliability and efficient operation of production and packaging equipment, while playing a key role in a new and expanding manufacturing operation.

What you’ll be doing

• Carry out planned preventative and corrective maintenance across production, processing and packaging equipment.
• Respond to breakdowns, diagnose faults and complete repairs to minimise downtime.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, sensor and instrumentation issues.
• Support PLC fault-finding and identify control system issues.
• Maintain and repair filling lines, can-making machinery and process plant equipment.
• Carry out root cause analysis to resolve recurring faults and improve equipment reliability.
• Support maintenance planning to keep machinery operating safely and efficiently.

What we’re looking for

• Experience in a multi-skilled maintenance role within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Confidence diagnosing faults involving sensors and instrumentation.
• A working understanding of PLC systems and basic fault-finding.
• Experience carrying out preventative maintenance and responding to breakdowns.
• A professional, proactive approach with strong problem-solving skills.

Desirable experience

• A background in food, dairy, beverage, packaging or FMCG manufacturing.
• Experience with liquid filling and packaging lines.
• Knowledge of three-piece can-making equipment.
• Experience with hygienic processing equipment and APV valves.
• PLC and HMI troubleshooting experience.
• Familiarity with heat exchangers, separators and homogenisers.
