PLC Controls Engineer

Overview

In this role you will design, program, test and commission industrial control systems for power solutions projects. You will work across the full project lifecycle, collaborating with electrical design teams, project managers and clients to deliver safe, robust and maintainable systems.

Your work includes diesel generator controls, switchgear/ATS/AMF panels, load sharing and synchronization, plus HMI/SCADA interfaces. Government clearance is required, and you’ll operate across UK and USA contexts. This is a hands-on, impact-driven opportunity with a focus on delivering compliant, scalable control solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, program, test and commission industrial control systems
• Deliver full project lifecycle activities (FDS/DDS, coding, FAT/SAT, on-site commissioning)
• Work with electrical design, project managers and clients to ensure robust, safe systems
• Implement diesel generator controls, switchgear/ATS/AMF panels, load sharing and synchronization
• Develop and integrate HMI/SCADA interfaces

Key requirements

• 5–10 years of PLC control systems experience
• UK & USA Government clearance required
• Experience across power solutions projects and industrial controls
