Based from Manchester or London , you will join a specialist Power Systems & Infrastructure team working on some of the largest, most complex and technically challenging data centre developments in the UK and internationally.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Senior Power Systems Engineer or Principal Power Systems Engineer to combine advanced technical engineering with project leadership, client interaction and genuine career progression within a global consultancy recognised as a 5-Star Employer.

you will

Undertake and lead complex power system studies and electrical network analysisDeliver load flow and short circuit / fault level studiesComplete protection coordination and discrimination studiesUndertake arc flash assessments and transient analysisDevelop robust LV, MV and HV power distribution solutionsUse industry-leading software including ETAP, SKM, DIgSILENT PowerFactory or equivalentSupport electrical infrastructure, resilience and grid connection strategiesProduce high-quality technical calculations, reports and engineering documentationCoordinate with multidisciplinary electrical, mechanical, civil and infrastructure teamsBuild strong relationships with clients and project stakeholdersReview technical outputs and provide engineering assuranceMentor and develop less experienced Power Systems EngineersAt Principal level, lead technical delivery, multidisciplinary teams and key client relationshipsProjects are predominantly within the rapidly expanding data centre, mission-critical and critical infrastructure markets, giving you exposure to technically sophisticated, high-value projects worldwide.

You will have To be successful as Senior / Principal Power Systems Engineer , you will ideally be: Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Power Systems Engineering or similarChartered Engineer / CEng, or actively progressing towards chartershipExperienced in power systems design, analysis and project deliveryStrong in load flow, short circuit, protection coordination, arc flash and/or transient studiesExperienced with ETAP, SKM, DIgSILENT PowerFactory or comparable power system analysis softwareKnowledgeable across LV, MV and/or HV electrical networksExperienced within data centres, utilities, renewable energy, critical infrastructure or similarly complex electrical environmentsConfident dealing directly with clients and multidisciplinary engineering teamsAble to provide technical leadership and mentoring at Senior/Principal levelPrevious data centre experience is highly attractive, although strong transferable power systems expertise from utilities, energy or other critical infrastructure environments is equally relevant.
