Principal Ecologist

Overview As a Principal Ecologist at AECOM, you will lead high-quality ecological consultancy work for a diverse client base. You'll shape environmental deliverables, tackle complex ecological issues, and contribute to major projects in energy, infrastructure, and transport.

Pay / Benefits flexible hybrid working model career development opportunities AECOM University volunteering days Responsibilities Lead and support delivery of ecological consultancy and advisory services for internal and external clients Oversee project phases, plans, schedules, resources and budgets to meet programme targets Develop robust, pragmatic solutions to complex ecological issues Lead and support ecology chapters for environmental statements and protected species licence applications Author or technically review project deliverables to ensure high quality outputs Support the ongoing development of technical capabilities Key requirements Degree in ecology or related subject Membership of a professional institution and progress toward or attainment of Chartered Ecologist or Chartered Environmentalist; holders of protected species licences preferred Experience leading ecological surveys/licensing/impact assessments Experience in winning work, managing projects, budgets and stakeholder discussions Experience reviewing technical work and supporting team members Stakeholder engagement Collaborative teamwork Effective communication Ecological surveys and licensing Impact assessment for ecological projects Environmental statements and licence applications
