Overview

As a Principal Process Engineer, you will lead Clean Water process delivery across a diverse UK portfolio, guiding optioneering through detailed design for resilient water solutions. You’ll work with clients and multidisciplinary teams to shape practical treatment concepts and deliver technical reports and specifications. You’ll develop the process engineering capability within a growing regional team and contribute to proposals and mentoring. This role combines technical leadership with real impact on water infrastructure and sustainability.

Responsibilities

• Lead technically challenging Clean Water projects from concept to delivery
• Influence treatment solutions and develop practical designs
• Collaborate with clients and multidisciplinary project teams
• Develop and review process designs, calculations, specifications and reports
• Support proposals and framework opportunities and mentor engineers

Key requirements

• Degree qualified in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering or related discipline
• Chartered Engineer (CEng)
• Significant experience delivering Clean Water process engineering in the UK water sector
• Strong understanding of water treatment processes and process engineering principles
• Experience developing and reviewing process designs and technical deliverables
• Proven ability to take technical ownership within multidisciplinary projects
• Good understanding of UK water industry standards, regulations and design requirements
