This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy team of transport planners in Central London, with flexible in-office time. Our client works on a wide variety and scale of developments and local authority projects. You will have responsibility supporting senior staff within a talented team, work independently where required, and we will encourage your progress with your professional qualifications or chartership.
What's on offerHybrid working arrangements with core working hoursDiscretionary performance-related bonusPrivate medical insuranceSeason travel ticket loanCycle to work SchemeMaternity and Paternity benefitsIndividual personal development and trainingSports and social club with monthly outings/eventsContinuing professional development and training, including assistance with chartershipProfessional membershipsThe roleSupporting junior members of the team to learn and deliver projects collaborativelyHelping develops multi-modal access strategies and designs for all kinds of developments and public sector transport projectsDevelop initial concept / feasibility studies for large masterplan sitesUndertaking technical assessments and analysis across a wide range of transport related subjectsPreparing technical notes and reports, Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, Delivery and Service Plans and other assessmentsPlaying an active role in the transport related aspects of building and development designAttending meetings with clients, architects and planning authoritiesWhat you need to succeedAt least 6 years' experience working in in the transport planning fieldKnowledge of the planning system and transport-related matters, including Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, and Environmental StatementsA practical knowledge of relevant cycling/walking design standards, highway standards and building design guidelinesExperience of using tools to design elements of the built environment, preferably AutoCAD and other associated Autodesk design software (such as AutoTrack) desirableExperience of preparing robust, visually engaging supporting material using a range of graphics softwareGood writing and numeracy skillsAn understanding and skills in pedestrian and highway capacity modelling, preferably some use of PICADY, ARCADY, LinSIGInterpersonal skills required to communicate effectively and professionally with the design team, clients, key stakeholders and contractorsAccuracy and attention to detail with ability to work within deadlinesProficiency in using Microsoft Office, including Excel
