As a Principal Urban Drainage Modeller, you will lead technical delivery across urban drainage and wastewater projects, guiding teams, and shaping solutions for UK water programmes. You’ll influence project outcomes, develop client relationships and contribute to innovative modelling approaches.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical delivery of urban drainage and wastewater modelling studies across UK water programmes
• Develop, verify, calibrate and analyse hydraulic models using InfoWorks ICM and GIS tools
• Lead modelling assessments covering wastewater networks, storm overflows, flooding, water quality, pollution management and network resilience
• Review modelling approaches, outputs and deliverables, providing technical assurance
• Interpret complex modelling results and make practical recommendations for client investment and operations
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, environmental specialists and clients to create effective solutions
• Support project planning, programming and delivery including managing technical tasks, resources and deadlines
• Mentor and develop less experienced modellers
• Contribute to bids, frameworks and improvements to modelling processes
• Support digital innovation and development of modelling capabilities

Key requirements

• Significant experience delivering urban drainage, wastewater or hydraulic modelling projects
• Strong knowledge of InfoWorks ICM and expert hydraulic modelling understanding
• Proven capability in technical leadership and delivering high-quality projects
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to interpret complex outputs
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management with multidisciplinary teams
