As a Features Video Producer for CNN, you will craft compelling visual stories for digital audiences in a fast-paced news environment. You’ll take ideas from concept to delivery, collaborating with global teams to shape engaging narratives. This role blends creativity with editorial judgment, spanning shoots, scripting, and post-production to deliver social-first video content. Responsibilities

• Develop original story ideas and translate them into engaging visual narratives, including ongoing digital series
• Create content designed for social-first platforms (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube)
• Conduct thorough pre-production planning (reporting, scripting, booking, logistics)
• Produce shoots in field or studio, directing crew and talent; shooting capability preferred
• Edit or supervise editing to ensure storytelling, pacing, and visual cohesion
• Collaborate with reporters and editors to refine stories and deliver high-quality output
• Troubleshoot production challenges and meet deadlines

Key requirements

• Extensive video journalism experience at a major news organization or production company
• Experience producing content across topics such as music, culture, lifestyle, travel, science and/or entertainment
• Proficiency in story development and pre-production (scripting, storyboarding, interview planning)
• Experience producing digital-first, social or multi-platform video content with strong visual style
• Proficiency in editing software (e.g. Adobe Premiere) and ability to manage multiple projects; motion graphics experience is beneficial
