Project Civil Engineer📍 Near Reading | Hybrid Working💷 £50,000 – £60,000 + Car / Car Allowance + Pension + 10% BonusA well-established, privately owned residential developer is looking to appoint a Project Civil Engineer to join its in-house technical team.

The role offers excellent exposure to the full development lifecycle, from early land stages through to construction and adoption. This is an ideal opportunity for a civil engineer currently working in consultancy or housebuilding who is looking for a client-side role with real ownership of projects.

The RoleYou will take responsibility for managing and coordinating all civil engineering aspects of residential developments, working closely with external consultants, local authorities, and internal planning, land, and construction teams.

Key responsibilities include:Managing civil engineering design for residential sites (highways, drainage, levels & utilities)Coordinating external civil engineering consultants from concept to deliveryOverseeing technical approvals including S104, S38, S278 and S106Supporting land appraisals, technical due diligence, and planning submissionsLiaising with local authorities, water companies, and statutory undertakersEnsuring designs are technically compliant, adoptable, and commercially soundProviding technical support through construction and adoption phasesAbout YouDegree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or a related disciplineExperience delivering UK residential / housing infrastructureStrong understanding of highways and drainage designFamiliar with adoptable standards and approval processesConfident managing multiple projects and consultant teamsPractical, commercially aware, and solutions-focusedWhat’s On Offer£50,000 – £60,000 basic salaryCar or car allowancePension10% annual bonusHybrid working arrangementLong-term career progression within a stable, privately owned developerBroad exposure across land, planning, design, and delivery
