Project Director

Overview

As Project Director in Turner & Townsend’s London PMC team, you will lead large, complex construction projects from inception to completion. You’ll drive client relationships, ensure on-time, on-budget delivery, and uphold safety, quality and environmental standards. You will optimise resources, programs, and procurement, while guiding a sizeable project team and coordinating with designers, subcontractors and stakeholders. This role offers impact through shaping major schemes and contributing to our growth and 2025 vision.

Responsibilities

• Manage and nurture relationships with client teams, designers, consultants, subcontractors and 3rd-party stakeholders
• Maintain the company’s collaborative reputation by delivering safely, on time, within budget, and with high-quality finishes
• Oversee project risks and opportunities to optimise outcomes
• Develop and maintain a robust construction programme aligned to time constraints
• Ensure procurement schedule aligns with the construction programme
• Oversee appointment of sub-contractors and suppliers
• Lead the construction phase health and safety plan and ensure HSQ&E compliance
• Organise team structure for efficient resource use
• Collaborate with the project commercial team to stay within cost plan

Key requirements

• Proven experience as a Project Director with a Tier 1 or Tier 2 main contractor
• Experience delivering end-to-end construction projects, especially large schemes (100m-500m)
• Excellent technical knowledge of construction procedures
• MCIOB and degree in a related subject
• Up-to-date knowledge of building and health & safety legislation
• Commercial and contractual awareness
