the Role

The Project Engineer will lead and support engineering development projects for Safran Electrical & Power UK, ensuring delivery aligns with business objectives and customer requirements. Working closely with customers and cross-functional teams, you will be responsible for delivering development projects on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.

The role includes managing New Product Introduction (NPI) activities through the One Safran process, responding to customer requirements, developing technical proposals and supporting business growth through technical expertise and collaboration.

You will also be responsible for project planning, KPI reporting and ensuring effective communication with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities Lead and support engineering development projects from concept through to delivery.

Manage NPI projects in accordance with the One Safran process. Ensure project scope, budget and timeline objectives are achieved. Gather, define and respond to customer requirements and enquiries. Develop technical proposals and supporting project documentation.

Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery. Monitor project risks, issues and change control activities. Provide regular KPI and project status reporting to the Engineering Manager. Support technical problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives.

Candidate skills & requirementsWhat You'll BringEssential: Engineering degree, preferably Electrical or Mechanical. Experience within a Design Engineering or Project Engineering role. Electromechanical design experience with an understanding of both mechanical and electrical engineering principles.

Experience creating technical documentation, reports and supporting RFQs (Requests for Quotation), with the ability to present to internal stakeholders and customers.

Desirable

Working knowledge of CAD tools, e.g. CATIA or SolidWorks. Experience of codes and requirements within the Aerospace industry. Awareness of aerospace and interconnect product design. Strong understanding of manufacturing, mechanical, electrical and design rules.
