Join Hayley 247 Engineering Services Hayley 247 Engineering Services is looking for an experienced and driven Project Engineer to join our growing team in Dudley. This is an exciting opportunity for a practical, solutions-focused engineering professional to play a key role in delivering a diverse range of engineering projects across multiple industries.

Working closely with our experienced Joint Operations Managers, you will receive comprehensive support and mentoring as you learn our customers, systems, and engineering capabilities. As your knowledge and confidence grow, you'll take increasing ownership of projects from initial enquiry through to successful completion.

The Project Engineer Role As Project Engineer, you will act as the vital link between customers, workshop teams, suppliers, subcontractors, and the commercial department, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards.

Your responsibilities will include

Project & Customer Management Managing engineering projects from enquiry through to completion. Acting as a key point of contact for customers throughout project delivery. Conducting site visits and surveys to assess engineering requirements and define project scope.

Producing technical notes, scopes of work, and supporting documentation. Coordinating machining, fabrication, repair, subcontractor, and on-site service activities. Monitoring project progress and providing updates to customers and colleagues.

Managing multiple projects and enquiries while maintaining clear priorities. Technical & Commercial Support Reviewing customer drawings, specifications, samples, and repair requirements. Supporting reverse-engineering projects and developing practical repair and manufacturing solutions.

Preparing technical and commercial quotations. Liaising with workshop teams regarding manufacturing methods and project progress. Working with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing, lead times, and technical information.

Producing technical reports and supporting troubleshooting activities. Identifying opportunities to enhance customer solutions and develop new business opportunities. Health, Safety & Site Activities Assessing site projects and identifying access, lifting, isolation, and operational requirements.

Preparing Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), with training provided where required. Ensuring projects are planned and delivered safely in line with company and customer requirements. Travelling to customer sites as required, sometimes at short notice.

About You We're looking for a hands-on engineering professional who combines technical expertise with strong communication and organisational skills. In order to be successful in this role you must have: Minimum five years' experience within a mechanical engineering environment.

Strong practical mechanical engineering knowledge and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset. Ability to assess engineering requirements on customer sites. Ability to interpret engineering drawings and communicate technical information effectively.

Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Professional communication skills when dealing with customers, suppliers, subcontractors, and colleagues. Commercial awareness and understanding of costs, lead times, and project scope.

Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel. Competent in Microsoft Office applications. It would be great if you had experience with / in: Machining and fabrication. Rotating equipment including pumps, motors, gearboxes, and fans.

Industrial maintenance and repair environments. Site surveys and project scoping. Reverse engineering from samples or existing equipment. Project management and customer account support. Quotation and estimating activities.

RAMS preparation and site documentation. Heavy industrial, manufacturing, or process environments. Customer-facing engineering roles.
