Project Leader

Overview

As a Project Leader, you drive design-led project delivery for water and wastewater schemes within a cross-disciplinary team. You’ll steer design from outline to detailed stages, ensuring schedule, budget, and quality targets are met. You work closely with clients and internal teams to foster a collaborative, one-team approach and help projects reach construction and handover efficiently. This role offers clear chartership progression and broad exposure across multi-disciplinary design-build activities.

Responsibilities

• Lead design of treatment or infrastructure projects from outline to detailed design, through construction, commissioning, and handover
• Coordinate the project team (civil, electrical, mechanical, process designers, BIM modelers, technical specialists) to meet programme, budget, and quality targets
• Undertake design within own discipline and mentor less experienced colleagues
• Build positive client relationships and promote a one-team approach across project stakeholders
• Work in a project triangle with Site Manager and Quantity Surveyor to balance technical, constructability and commercial objectives

Key requirements

• Accredited Degree in Engineering - Civil, Mechanical, Process and Electrical
• Incorporated Member of Engineering Institution
• Outline and detailed design experience of water or wastewater projects
• Knowledge of the Designer or Principal Designer duties under CDM 2015
• Cross-functional collaboration
• Mentoring and developing colleagues
• Relationship building with clients and teams
• Water and wastewater design experience
• BIM modelers coordination
• Knowledge of CDM 2015 Designer/Principal Designer duties
