Project Manager - Tier 1 Main Contractor Salary: £80,000 - £90,000 + Package Location: London & South East Sector: Education / Major Projects Are you an experienced Project Manager looking to join one of the UK's leading Tier 1 Main Contractors?

We are working exclusively with a highly respected principal contractor who has secured a significant pipeline of Department for Education projects and is seeking an accomplished Project Manager to lead the delivery of major education schemes valued between £30m and £50m.

Reporting directly into a Contracts Manager, you will take full operational responsibility for projects from pre-construction through to successful handover, ensuring delivery is achieved safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

The Role As Project Manager, you will be responsible for: Leading the delivery of complex DfE and education projects valued between £30m and £50m. Managing schemes from pre-construction phase through procurement, construction and handover.

Developing and implementing project programmes and delivery strategies. Working closely with commercial, design and operational teams to mitigate risk and maximise project performance. Ensuring site teams maintain the highest standards of health, safety and environmental compliance.

Managing subcontractor performance, logistics and programme activities. Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants and key stakeholders. Providing regular project reporting to the Contracts Manager and senior leadership team.

Driving quality, programme and commercial outcomes throughout the project lifecycle. Candidate Requirements The successful candidate will possess: Proven experience working as a Project Manager for a recognised Tier 1 or leading regional main contractor.

Demonstrable delivery experience on Department for Education projects. Strong pre-construction experience, including planning, procurement strategy and buildability input. Track record of delivering projects valued between £30m and £50m.

Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills. Strong understanding of NEC and JCT forms of contract. SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications. Stable career history with evidence of delivering complex construction projects from inception to completion.
