Martin@hays.comYour new companyVIVO Defence Services is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join its team at RAF Alconbury, playing a key role in delivering infrastructure and improvement projects across the Ministry of Defence estate.

This is an opportunity to manage a diverse portfolio of projects that directly support military personnel, their families, and the wider defence community. You'll take ownership from project inception through to completion, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Your new roleAs Project Manager, you'll lead the successful delivery of Billable Works projects across a complex and operationally critical estate. Working closely with Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) representatives, supply chain partners, site teams and stakeholders, you'll ensure projects meet contractual, statutory and environmental requirements while delivering excellent customer outcomes.

Key responsibilities include

Managing projects throughout the full lifecycle, from planning to handoverEnsuring delivery against programme, budget, quality and compliance targetsMonitoring and mitigating project risksLeading and coordinating contractors and supply chain partnersReviewing and approving risk assessments and method statementsManaging project budgets and delivering value for moneyBuilding strong relationships with customers and key stakeholdersSupporting sustainability objectives, including carbon reduction initiativesMaintaining project documentation and reporting through systems such as SharePoint and MaximoResolving customer issues and driving continuous improvement across project deliveryThe ideal candidate will haveEssential: HNC/HND in Building, Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience)SMSTS or equivalent health & safety qualificationStrong IT skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams and SharePointFull UK Driving LicenceAbility to obtain and maintain SC Security ClearanceDesirable: Membership of APM, RICS, CIOB or similar professional bodyExperience within defence, FM or public sector environmentsKnowledge of CAFM systemsAdditional technical qualifications relating to asbestos, legionella or Authorised Person responsibilitiesWhat you'll get in returnCompetitive salary of up to 50,0006% matched pension contribution25 days annual leavePrivate medical cover (single)One professional subscription paid annuallyOpportunity to work on meaningful, high-impact projectsCollaborative and values-driven working environmentCareer development and progression opportunitiesOpportunity to work in a varied, impactful role within a complex operational environmentWhat you need to do now If you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.
