This is a varied, hands-on role combining CAD design, prototyping, manual machining and machine development.
The RoleWorking within a small engineering team, you will be involved in the design, manufacture and development of specialist machinery and tooling.
Key responsibilities include
Designing components and tooling using CADProducing engineering drawingsManufacturing prototype parts using manual lathes and milling machinesAssembling, testing and modifying machinerySupporting new product and machine development projectsCarrying out mechanical modifications and improvementsUndertaking basic electrical modification work where requiredAbout YouYou will be a practical, hands-on engineer with experience in several of the following areas: Manual lathe and milling machine operationMachining prototype components from steel and aluminiumCAD design, layout of engineering drawings, 3D printingMechanical assembly and workshop practicesMechanical problem solving and fault findingThe following would be advantageous: Machine build or special purpose machinery experiencePrototype development or toolmaking experienceBasic electrical wiring or modification skillsEngineering qualification, apprenticeship, HNC/HND or equivalentWhy Join Us?
