Python Developer

We're working with an established, technology-driven organisation looking to appoint an experienced Senior Software Engineer (Python) to join its engineering team. This is an opportunity for a talented, hands-on software engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, building reliable and scalable applications, and having a genuine influence on technical decisions.

You'll play a key role in the design, development, testing and ongoing improvement of business-critical software solutions, working closely with engineers, product teams and wider stakeholders. The business is looking for someone who can combine strong Python development skills with sound engineering principles, technical ownership and a collaborative approach.

The Role As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll take responsibility for delivering high-quality software solutions across complex technology environments.

Your responsibilities will include

Designing, developing and maintaining reliable, scalable applications using Python. Taking ownership of software design, implementation, testing and ongoing operation. Developing and enhancing existing products, services and internal tooling.

Tackling complex technical problems and delivering practical, maintainable solutions. Applying test-driven development (TDD), automated testing and software quality best practices. Collaborating with Product Owners, Product Managers and other stakeholders to deliver technical roadmaps.

Contributing to architectural decisions, technical planning and continuous improvement. Providing technical guidance, mentoring and support to other engineers. Ensuring software changes are delivered effectively, with consideration for reliability, performance and long-term maintainability.

What We're Looking For We're particularly interested in experienced software engineers with strong Python expertise and a track record of delivering complex software solutions. Essential experience: Strong commercial software engineering experience, with Python as a core programming language.
