QA Automation Engineer - AI Focused Location: Greater Manchester - 5 days onsite

I'm currently looking for a QA Automation Engineer to join a growing technology team in Greater Manchester.

We're looking for someone with a solid foundation in software testing and automation, but what will really set you apart is a genuine passion for AI and emerging technologies .

This isn't about simply using ChatGPT to write test cases. We want someone who's naturally curious about AI, actively experimenting with new tools, building things in their own time and excited about how AI can change the way we develop and test software.

You'll be joining a hands-on, collaborative environment where you'll have the opportunity to take ownership, contribute ideas and help shape how automation and AI are used across the team.

What we're looking for: Commercial experience in QA / Software Testing, with a strong focus on test automation.

Experience building and maintaining automated tests for web applications, APIs or software platforms.

A good understanding of software development lifecycles, testing practices and working closely with developers.

Confidence getting hands-on, investigating issues and improving testing processes.

Genuine enthusiasm for AI – someone who actively explores AI tools, experiments with new technologies and keeps up with developments.

Ideally, personal projects, prototypes, AI agents, applications or automations you've built yourself. We'd love to hear about them!

A proactive, self-starting attitude and willingness to get involved beyond the traditional responsibilities of a QA Engineer.

We're not necessarily looking for someone who's already an expert in AI, but we are looking for someone who's genuinely excited by it .

Maybe you're experimenting with Claude Code, Cursor or other AI development tools. Perhaps you've built your own AI-powered applications, agents or automations outside work.

Whatever it is, we'd love to hear about what you've been working on.
