Quantity Surveyor

Job Description We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join a major infrastructure project in Carlisle. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious Quantity Surveyor looking to take the next step in their career and gain further experience working on a large-scale infrastructure project within the utilities sector.

The successful candidate will ideally have a background in civil engineering, infrastructure or utilites with strong commercial awareness and experience supporting the financial and contractual management of major projects.

The OpportunityThe role will be primarily focused around the Carlisle project , and as our client does not currently have an established office in the area, candidates will need to be comfortable with a degree of travel to site.

We are particularly interested in hearing from Quantity Surveyors based across the North West , with a preference for candidates located north of Manchester who can realistically and consistently travel to Carlisle for the duration of the project.

Key ResponsibilitiesAs an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor, you will support the commercial management of the roject, working closely with the wider project and commercial teams. Responsibilities are likely to include: Supporting the commercial management of a major infrastructure projectMonitoring project costs, budgets and financial performancePreparing and maintaining accurate cost forecastsAssisting with valuations, applications for payment and final accountsManaging subcontractor and supplier accountsReviewing and assessing variations and changesSupporting the preparation and submission of commercial reportsIdentifying and managing commercial risks and opportunitiesAssisting with the management of contractual obligationsReviewing subcontractor accounts and ensuring costs are accurately capturedSupporting change control and cost management processesWorking closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors and other stakeholdersEnsuring commercial processes are followed throughout the project lifecycleProviding accurate commercial information to support project decision-makingAbout YouWe are looking for an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor who is confident working within a project environment and is looking to develop their commercial career further.
