This multi-accredited contractor delivers clean and wastewater capital programmes directly for Severn Trent Water and is well-known for its collaborative culture, customer-focused approach and commitment to developing its people.

Due to continued success and a strong pipeline of AMP8 projects, they are actively seeking a talented Quantity Surveyor to join their team. This is a full-time permanent position based out of their Birmingham office with hybrid and flexible working.

Your new roleAs a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the commercial management of water infrastructure projects across the Severn Trent Water framework. Working closely with operational and commercial teams, you will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered profitably while maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities will include:Managing project costs from inception through to final accountPreparing and submitting applications for paymentAdministering subcontractor accounts, payments and variationsProducing cost reports, forecasts and cash flow projectionsIdentifying and managing commercial risks and opportunitiesSupporting procurement activities and subcontract negotiationsEnsuring compliance with contract requirements and commercial proceduresWorking closely with project delivery teams to drive commercial performanceManaging compensation events, change control and contractual correspondenceBuilding and maintaining positive relationships with clients and supply chain partners.

What you'll need to succeedIn order to be successful, you must have:Degree/HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying (or similar) or experience equivalentExperience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor within water, utilities, civil engineering or infrastructure projectsSound working knowledge of NEC form of contractExcellent communication and stakeholder management abilitiesStrong commercial awareness and cost management skillsFull UK driving licence.
