Quantity Surveyor

Quantity Surveyor - Highways Location: Hatfield, Hertfordshire Rate: £400-£550 per shift (DOE) Contract: Freelance / Contract Morson is currently recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a major highways project in Hatfield, working with a leading Tier 1 contractor.

This is a great opportunity for a commercially experienced QS with a background in highways or civil engineering.

Key Responsibilities

Managing the commercial aspects of highways works. Preparing and agreeing valuations and applications for payment. Managing subcontractor accounts, payments and variations. Monitoring project costs, budgets and forecasts.

Identifying and managing compensation events and variations. Preparing cost reports and maintaining commercial records. Working closely with project managers and site teams.

Requirements

Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within highways or civil engineering. Good understanding of NEC contracts. Experience with subcontractor management and commercial reporting. Strong negotiation and communication skills.
