Job Description Join us as a Raw Materials Controller at our Sandtoft Site in DoncasterWienerberger Ltd manufactures and provides wall, roof and landscaping products for the construction sector. We offer innovative and sustainable solutions across the whole building envelope for new build, renovation projects and across the building industry.
About the RoleAs a Raw Materials Controller you will be responsible for managing the Site Services Team at our Sandtoft site, helping to maintain high site standards and ensuring raw materials and consumable stocks are available to support production.
You will oversee COSHH responsibilities within the Site Services remit, work closely with operational and procurement teams, and lead improvement activities that support safety, quality, cost, and environmental performance.
Duties also include: Carrying out cycle counts for raw materials, consumables, and consolidated stock in line with company policyMaintaining accurate stock information and documentation for reporting and audit purposesOrdering raw materials and consumables while considering production schedules, lead times, and safety stock levelsArranging and managing goods receipts and internal and external plant-to-plant transfers through SAPManaging local stock holdings of production consumables and ensuring supplies remain available to support operationsMonitoring raw material usage and identifying opportunities to improve yield and reduce wasteWorking closely with procurement to address supply chain issues and escalate concerns when requiredEnsuring waste, empty containers, and packaging materials are disposed of correctly and cost effectivelySupporting a culture of continuous improvement across the siteProviding cover for quality assurance activities when requiredThis role plays an important part in ensuring our manufacturing operations run efficiently, safely, and sustainably.
Your work will help maintain product quality, support production performance, and contribute to continuous improvement across the site. There will be opportunities to develop your skills, contribute to improvement projects, and collaborate with colleagues across different functions within the business.
This site produces Roof tiles, supporting our manufacturing of highquality building materials across the UK.This position is based at Sandtoft site, which is near Belton and easily commutable from Scunthorpe, Thorne, Gainsborough and Doncaster.
Due to the site location, it is accessible by personal vehicles only. Free parking is available. Hours of work7:00am to 4:30pm, Monday to FridayAbout youEssentialGood experience working in a manufacturing or high-volume production environmentStrong commitment to safe working practices and health and safety standardsLeadership experience within an operational environmentExperience of stock control, stock counting, and raw material ordering processesGood IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and OutlookStrong organisational and planning skillsHigh attention to detailAbility to lead a team and support continuous improvement activitiesFlexible approach and ability to adapt to changing prioritiesDesirableExperience using SAP or a similar ERP systemKnowledge of COSHH systems and processesKnowledge of continuous improvement tools and methodologiesExperience supporting quality assurance activities within a manufacturing environmentAbout our BenefitsWeekly paidBasic rate from £13.25 per hour to £16.23 per hour (depending on experience)Overtime opportunities are available regularly to increase your earnings.
