A small and nurturing Independent School in Peterborough is seeking a thoughtful Reception Teacher to join its Early Years team on a Part-Time basis with a January 2026 start. The Part-Time Reception Teacher will take part in planning and handover prior to January 2026 , attend an induction week in January 2026 , and begin teaching from January 2026 on a Part-Time timetable.

The Part-Time Reception Teacher will engage fully in collaborative practice, attending weekly planning and CPD from January 2026 , and will have designated mentor time arranged by the Independent School starting in January 2026. Reception Teacher — core responsibilities (Part-Time)

  • Plan and deliver an engaging Reception curriculum as the Reception Teacher , balancing child-led learning with focused teacher-led sessions.
  • Lead phonics and early reading activities as the Reception Teacher and track progress against the Early Learning Goals.
  • Work with families and staff to promote smooth transition into Year 1 — the Reception Teacher will contribute to transition plans beginning in January 2026 .

Participate in moderation, CPD and enrichment activities arranged by the Independent School in and after January 2026 . Reception Teacher — candidate profile We are looking for a pragmatic Reception Teacher with QTS/EYTS, strong EYFS practice and a nurturing presence.

The Reception Teacher should be comfortable with observational assessment and able to deliver targeted interventions despite working Part-Time. The Reception Teacher will begin pre-term planning before January 2026 , attend induction during January 2026 , and teach from January 2026 as a Part-Time Reception Teacher .
