hackajob is partnering directly with Leonardo to hire for this role. Job Description: Your impact Leonardo is seeking an experienced Red Team Consultant to join our growing Offensive Security capability. This role is open to both Senior and Principal level Consultants.
Working within a defence-focused environment, you will deliver threat-led security assessments, adversary emulation activities and advanced security testing for customers operating within complex and high-assurance environments.
You will emulate realistic cyber threats, assess the effectiveness of security controls and provide actionable recommendations to help customers strengthen their resilience against sophisticated adversaries. This role offers the opportunity to be more than a delivery consultant.
As one of the key technical members of a growing Red Team capability, you will play an important role in shaping how the service develops. Alongside customer engagements, you will contribute to the evolution of our tooling, methodologies, technical approaches and service offerings, helping establish the foundations for a scalable and highly capable Red Team practice.
You will work closely with cyber security specialists across Leonardo, providing technical input into delivery, capability development and innovation activities. The role combines hands-on offensive security work with research, experimentation and continuous improvement, providing opportunities to broaden your expertise while contributing to the growth of the wider team.

What you'll do as Red Team Consultant Deliver Red Team and Adversary Simulation Activities Deliver threat-led security assessments, adversary emulation and red team activities within complex defence and government environments.
You will work as part of the Leonardo's delivery teams to ensure the effectiveness of people, processes and technology against realistic cyber threats, producing clear findings and recommendations that improve customer resilience.
Support Red Team Capability Development Contribute to the ongoing development of Leonardo's growing Red Team capability. You will help shape tooling, methodologies, operational processes and best practices, ensuring services continue to evolve in line with emerging threats, customer requirements and industry standards.
Research and Innovation Conduct research into emerging threat actor tactics, techniques and procedures (TTPs), offensive security tooling and adversary simulation approaches. Apply this knowledge to continuously improve technical capability and bring new ideas into customer engagements.
Operational Infrastructure and Tooling Support the design, provisioning and maintenance of infrastructure used during red team and adversary simulation activities. This includes the deployment and management of security tooling, cloud-based environments and supporting platforms required to conduct operations safely and effectively.
Documentation and Knowledge Sharing Produce high-quality technical documentation, reports and operational procedures. Share knowledge across the wider team through mentoring, collaboration and technical discussions to help strengthen Leonardo's offensive security capability.
Customer and Stakeholder Engagement Work closely with customers, project teams and security stakeholders to scope activities, communicate findings and support the successful delivery of engagements. You will contribute technical expertise throughout the engagement lifecycle, from planning through to final reporting and replay activities.

This role would suit someone who enjoys hands-on red teaming while also wanting to influence how a capability develops and matures over time. Core areas (must have): Experience delivering red team, adversary simulation or advanced penetration testing activities.
Relevant certifications relating to red teaming. Strong technical skills in one or more of the following areas: initial access, cloud exploitation, malware development, detection evasion, operational security, physical security testing or adversary emulation.
Experience using scripting or development languages such as Python, C#, JavaScript, Go, Rust or similar. Ability to contribute technical leadership and provide direction during engagements. Strong analytical, communication and reporting skills.
Willingness to travel to customer sites, generally Bristol and SW. Is comfortable with suitable coding languages for OST / Malware development (C, C#, Python, JS, Go, Rust). Ability to attain DV clearance and hold sole UK nationality, no sponsorship available for this role.
Desirable Experience working within Defence, MOD or other high-assurance environments. Understanding of frameworks such as MITRE ATT
