Job Description Solicitor or FCILEx - Residential Property Annual Salary: £40k to £60k depending on experience Location: Whitstable Job Type: Full-time, Permanent We are seeking a qualified Solicitor or FCILEx to join my clients Residential Property Department.
This role involves undertaking a variety of residential conveyancing tasks and offers the opportunity to manage your own caseload. The ideal candidate will be proactive in developing new business opportunities and engaging with the local community. Day-to-day of
the role
Manage your own caseload of freehold and leasehold transactions, including sales and purchases, new builds, and Help to Buy schemes. Handle re-mortgages and prepare and advise on transfers of equity. Prepare and advise on residential tenancy agreements.
Identify and develop new business opportunities through networking with local estate agents and other referrers. Represent the department at various public events in the local community. Attend property department meetings and training courses as determined by the Head of Department.
Maintain compliance with the firm's routine accounts and administrative disciplines. Provide your own secretarial services, including typing, filing, and photocopying, as required by work volumes. Required Skills &
Qualifications
Qualified as a Solicitor or FCILEx in England and Wales. Experience in managing a caseload of residential property matters. Strong understanding of residential conveyancing processes. Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong communication and networking skills. Commitment to continuous personal and professional development. General Objectives: Participate in the firm’s performance management system, setting clear objectives linked to the firm’s business plan.
Develop a personal development plan and assess the impact of training on performance. Uphold the standards and systems required to continually improve customer service. Comply with all the firm’s relevant policies and procedures.
Maintain confidentiality on all appropriate matters, understanding the serious nature of breaches in confidentiality.
