Risk Manager

Hyreus is currently recruiting an experienced Risk Manager for an exciting opportunity based in Cumbria with a leading Tier One civil engineering contractor operating within the power and nuclear sectors. The successful candidate will play a key role in identifying, assessing and managing project risks across major civil engineering and infrastructure works.

Working closely with project management, engineering, commercial, planning and operational teams, you will help protect project delivery by identifying potential threats and opportunities, developing effective mitigation strategies and ensuring risk information is accurately reported throughout the project lifecycle.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced risk professional to contribute to complex infrastructure projects within a highly regulated environment, supporting effective decision-making and the successful delivery of major power and nuclear programmes. Responsibilities

• Lead the identification, assessment and management of project risks across the full project lifecycle.
• Develop, maintain and regularly review project risk registers, ensuring risks, opportunities, owners and mitigation actions are accurately recorded.
• Facilitate risk workshops and review meetings with multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors and key project stakeholders.
• Assess the potential impact of risks on programme, cost, quality, health and safety, environment and overall project delivery.
• Develop and monitor appropriate mitigation, contingency and response strategies, ensuring actions are assigned and followed through.
• Provide regular risk reporting, dashboards and analysis to project leadership and senior management.
• Work closely with planning and commercial teams to assess programme exposure, cost implications and potential financial impacts.
• Support the integration of risk management into project controls, planning, forecasting and change management processes.
• Identify emerging risks, trends and opportunities, providing early warnings and practical recommendations to project teams.
• Monitor the effectiveness of risk mitigation measures and escalate significant risks where appropriate.
