Job Description ROAD FREIGHT OPERATOR £30,000 - £33,000 CANNOCK, WS11 Night Shift: 18:00 02:00 ROAD IMPORT / EXPORT / CUSTOMS CLEARANCE / LOOGISTICS /TRANSPORT PLANNING This is a great opportunity for an experienced ROAD FREIGHT OPERATOR to join a busy logistics organisation to support the night operations.
Key Responsibilities Coordinate nightly transport, export and import operations, ensuring timely departures, arrivals, trailer movements and trunking. Plan and optimise export trailer loads with warehouse and transport teams to maximise capacity, efficiency and service levels.
Prepare and process transport documentation, including manifests, load lists and EDI transmissions. Prepare and verify UK customs/export documentation, including CMRs, invoices, packing lists, GMRs, ENS, ELOs and PBNs. Support out-of-hours import processing, trailer releases and customs clearance, ensuring compliance with customs legislation and company procedures.
Investigate and resolve shipment discrepancies, damages, inventory issues and customs queries, escalating where required. Maintain accurate shipment, planning and operational data within the TMS. Produce operational reports What You Bring Skills & Experience Essential:Previous experience within road freight export operations.
Strong organisational and administrative skills, with excellent attention to detail. Experience using Transport Management Systems (TMS) Good working knowledge of UK customs procedures and international freight movements.
Experience with export documentation and customs processes. Knowledge ofASM Sequoiawould be advantageous.
