Overview

As Rubrik SME, you will own Rubrik and enterprise backup technologies within a global financial services environment. You will design, implement, and optimise backup and storage services across EMEA and international sites, ensuring security, regulatory compliance, and resilience. You’ll drive improvements to backup reliability, support DR/BCP planning, and contribute to architectural decisions and standards. This role offers an opportunity to influence data protection strategy in a highly regulated setting.

Responsibilities

• Act as SME and technical owner for Rubrik and enterprise backup technologies
• Oversee design, implementation, administration and optimisation of backup systems and infrastructure
• Manage backup and storage services across EMEA and international environments
• Monitor backup success rates and drive improvements to reduce failures
• Maintain Rubrik and related technologies per vendor and standards
• Ensure platforms meet security, risk, control and regulatory requirements
• Design and implement operational controls to mitigate data protection risks
• Ensure data backed up and retained per policies and regulatory requirements
• Manage restoration requests and meet SLAs for recovery
• Support development of BCP and Disaster Recovery strategies
• Contribute to architecture decisions, standards and strategic roadmap
• Identify opportunities to introduce new technologies and improve resilience and cost-efficiency
• Manage capacity and identify risks before impact
• Provide technical input into wider technology programmes and change initiatives
• Participate in audits and regulatory assessments
• Maintain accurate technical and operational documentation
• Identify opportunities for automation to improve efficiency
• Provide technical consultancy to development, infra and other teams
• Provide day-to-day SME support for backup and storage and assist with incidents and requests

Key requirements

• Extensive hands-on Rubrik experience in an enterprise environment
• Strong understanding of backup, recovery and data protection technologies
• Experience designing, implementing and supporting enterprise backup platforms
• Strong knowledge of Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity and operational resilience
• Experience in large-scale, complex infrastructure environments
• Strong understanding of security, privileged access, risk and control requirements
• Experience working with SLAs, KPIs, capacity management and service availability
