365 People are currently recruiting for a Sanding Operative to work with one of our clients based in Market Harborough Job Overview Role: Sanding Operative Department: Production / Manufacturing / Workshop Hours 7am - 4pm Monday to Thursday and 7am - 1pm on Friday Pay: £12.71 per hour Repetitive role, sanding down all day Key Responsibilities Surface Preparation: Smooth and level surfaces by removing rough spots, old finishes, rust, or excess material.
Machine & Tool Operation: Safely operate hand sanders, orbital sanders, belt sanders, or automated sanding equipment. Grit Selection: Choose the correct sandpaper grades or abrasive belts for each stage of the smoothing process.
Quality Inspection: Check finished work for scratches, dents, or flaws to ensure it is ready for painting, varnishing, or assembly. Equipment Maintenance: Clean, maintain, and change worn abrasive belts or filters on machinery.
Housekeeping & Safety: Keep the workspace tidy, empty dust extraction units, and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Requirements & Qualifications Experience: Previous hands-on experience in a manufacturing, woodworking, or industrial finishing environment is essential Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long shifts and lift moderate to heavy materials.
